Galaxy S6: List of Custom ROMs

Once you root and install a custom recovery, what’s next? Today I’m going to give a list of all the custom ROMs that are currently available for the Samsung Galaxy S6.

If you’ve been following the Galaxy S6 root tutorials then you might be wonder what is next. I’ve walked you through how to root the Galaxy S6how to install a custom recovery on the Galaxy S6, how to create a Nandroid backup of the Galaxy S6, how to install a custom ROM on the Galaxy S6 and how to install a custom kernel on the Galaxy S6. That finishes all of the main root tutorials that help to get you off the ground and moving in the right direction. I like to take these a step further though and create a couple of resource lists.

This will you will see a list of both custom ROMs for the Galaxy S6 and custom kernels. Today’s list will cover all the available custom ROMs for the Galaxy S6.

We have to remember though, the community developer support for the device is still in its infancy. There are only a handful of custom ROMs for each device and as of writing this they seem to be all based on the stock TouchWiz firmware. As time goes on, we will start to see some AOSP based custom ROMs and with your help I hope to keep this list as up to date as possible. So, if you know of a custom ROM for the Galaxy S6 that isn’t on the list below then please feel free to head to the comments section at the bottom and tell me about them.

Galaxy S6 Custom ROMs

I have broken this list down into the various models of the Galaxy S6 to make it easier to skim through and find the actual variant that you own. If there isn’t a custom ROM listed for your version then that means I was unable to find one for it.

Feedback

I am also curious in hearing what you think of these Galaxy S6 custom ROMs. If you have used one in the past then leave a comment and tell us what you think about it. Tell us what your favorite feature(s) was and what you wish was different about it(better battery life, better performance, more features, etcetera). This feedback will help the rest of the community to help pick out which Galaxy S6 custom ROM would be best for them. For example, if they are looking for a ROM with great battery life then you telling us how you felt the battery life for a particular ROM could help safe them a lot of time.

Remember though, everyone uses their phone differently and this means just because someone gets great battery life on a certain custom ROM doesn’t mean that everyone will. They could game a lot and that is where that particular ROM excels. Or maybe they leave their phone in standby a lot and that is what that ROM does best.

  1. Hi there, i have a question; changing my rom may help my device to detect/make it work a 360 gamepad wired?

    1. It’s definitely possible, but I can’t say for sure because it would depend on the specific custom ROM. It’s probably best to ask this question in the XDA thread for the custom ROM you are thinking about installing as they would have more experience about that particular ROM and its capabilities
