Acer Debuts New Swift and Aspire Series Laptops at CES 2024

As a part of it’s CES 2024 launch, Acer announced six new laptops across the Swift and Aspire series, ranging from budget to premium levels.

The bunch includes three new Acer Swift series and three new Acer Aspire Series, all having a dedicated Microsoft Copilot button cooked into their keyboards. These are scheduled to launch in the first half 2024 and be sold via  Acer’s website.

Acer’s New Laptops at CES 2024

Entering the grand CES 2024 event, Acer unveiled a handful of laptops for budget, mid and high-end segments. All these laptops have Windows Copilot pre-installed and a dedicated Copilot button to activate the AI assistant, as Microsoft announced earlier quickly. The bunch includes Swift Go 14, Swift Go 16, Swift X 14, Aspire Go 14, Aspire Go 15 and Aspire Vero 16. Here are more details;

Acer Swift Series

Starting with the basic Go models, both Swift Go 14 and Swift Go 16 come with an Intel Arc GPU, a 1440p QHD webcam, Wi-Fi 7 connectivity, Intel Unison 2.0, OLED displays with 500 nits of peak brightness, 32GB of LPDDR5X memory, upgradable 2TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD with dual slots and the option for a WUXGA touchscreen. They also have two USB-C ports with Thunderbolt 4, one USB-A port, HDMI 2.1, a microSD card reader and Bluetooth LE.

What differs between these laptops are the display and battery compositions, where Swift Go 14 has a 90Hz display with 2880 x 1800 resolution and a battery life of up to 12.5 hours. The Swift Go 16, on the other hand, has a 120Hz display with 3200 x 2000 resolution and up to 10.5 hours. However, both models are certified with the TÜV Rheinland Eyesafe display standard to prevent eye strain.

Coming to Swift X 14, the premium model in this series has the same number of ports, memory, and Bluetooth standard as it’s cheaper counterparts but advances in other areas like Wi-Fi 6E and offers up to 1TB of PCIe Gen 4 SSD storage. Based on an Intel Core Ultra H-series CPU, Swift X 14 has an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 GPU, a 2880 x 1800 resolution OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and 500 nits of peak brightness. Acer says the Swift X 14 is aimed at users dealing with higher-quality streaming, video editing and 3D rendering.

Acer Aspire Series

Starting with the Aspire Go 14 and 15 models, Acer fits the Intel Core i3 N-series processors in both laptops, but the Go 14 also comes with the AMD Ryzen 7000 series, if you want. Furthermore, both these models have 10 hours of battery life, 16GB LPDDR5 of RAM, up to 1TB of M.2 PCIe Gen3 SSD storage, 16:10 aspect ratios and Wi-Fi 6 connectivity.

Coming to the Aspire Vero 16, the high-end model in this space has an Intel Core Ultra 7 chip with AI Boost and a 1440p QHD webcam with AI-assisted Acer Purified Voice. With a battery life of 10.5 hours, Aspire Vero 16 has 16GB of LPDDR RAM, 2TB of dual PCIe Gen 4 SSD upgradable storage, Bluetooth LE, Wi-Fi 7, Unison 2.0, two USB-C ports, and an HDMI Port. It boasts a 16-inch WQXGA display with 2560 x 1600 resolution, which can be swapped out for a WUXGA touchscreen panel.

Pricing and Availability

All these six laptops will be available on Acer’s website in the first half of 2024. Regarding pricing, Swift X 14 and Aspire Go 15 will be the first models to arrive in the US at $1,399.99 and $249.99, respectively.

These are followed by the Aspire Go 14($249.99 for Intel and $379.99 for AMD variant), Swift Go 14($749.99) and Swift Go 16($799.99), respectively. And finally, the Acer Aspire Vero 16 will arrive in April for $749.99.
