Google Play Store is preparing a feature to let users uninstall apps on connected devices remotely and easily.
The changelog of this yet-to-be-rolled feature notes uninstalling apps on Android Auto, PC, Phone, TV and WearOS devices from any Google-connected device. When available, the option appears in the Manage Apps section of Google Play Store, where users can select and uninstall them quickly.
Uninstalling Android Apps Remotely
Google is bringing one of the most anticipated features to it’s Play Store – the ability to uninstall apps on connected devices remotely, through a new update soon. As noted in the changelog for Google System Updates, the Play Store is set to receive the above-mentioned ability, working across all Android instances like Auto, PC, Phone, TV, and WearOS.
A tipster, TheSpAndroid, has managed to activate the feature on Play Store v38.8 and shared screenshots of how this would look. As per them, the new option appears in the Manage Apps section of Google Play Store, where you can select connected devices to view all the apps installed and uninstall them accordingly.
The UI also has the option to sort apps by storage used, which could be handy in deciding to what apps to be removed. While it’s unclear when this feature will roll out, it’ll be interesting to see Google adding support to install the apps, too, remotely.
