OnePlus 12 Goes Official with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, 100w Charging

OnePlus 12

The day has finally arrived as OnePlus officially unveiled it’s OnePlus 12 after teasing almost every specification of the device. OnePlus has officially launched the OnePlus 12 at an event in China today(as of the time of writing this) and the global availability and price are still unknown. We hope OnePlus will launch this device in other markets early next year. Most of the device specifications are already known to many, as all the previous rumors and leaks have come true. This is the best flagship smartphone for those who don’t know. Check out the detailed specifications of the device below.

OnePlus 12 Specifications:

From the looks, the device is quite similar to it’s predecessor, with a big circular camera module with a triple camera system on the rear side. The LED flashlight is above the circular camera module and the back panel is glass with metal rails on the side.

The significant improvement comes on the front as this device comes with a 120 Hz QHD+ AMOLED display from BOE. The display measures 6.82 inches and has a peak brightness of 4500 nits under direct sunlight. This is amazing as it is the brightest display ever on a smartphone. For the unversed, one of the most brightest display in a smartphone in the United States is the Google Pixel 8 Pro, which has a maximum brightness of 2400 nits.

Under the hood is the latest and greatest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 paired with up to 24GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 internal storage. OnePlus has also increased the RAM to 24GB, top-of-the-line variant compared to it’s predecessor, which had 16GB of RAM for it’s top-of-the-line variant. Users can choose between 12GB + 256GB, 16GB + 512GB, 16GB + 1TB and 24GB + 1TB storage options. It runs on ColorOS 14 on top of Android 14.

The device also has an improved camera system for optics compared to it’s last generation. A triple rear camera system comprises a 50MP Sony LYT-808 primary sensor paired with a 48MP ultra-wide sensor and a 64MP periscope sensor with 3x optical zoom. On the front is a 32MP selfie shooter housed in a center punch hole cutout at the top of the display.

OnePlus 12 has a 5400 mAh battery with 100W fast wired charging. There is also support for 50W wireless fast charging, and it seems impressive as wireless charging was missing from the OnePlus 11, launched last year. OnePlus claimed this device’s battery capacity should be 80% even after 1600 charge cycles.

Other specifications include IP68 water and dust resistance, in-display optical fingerprint scanner, USB 3.2 Gen 1, multi-directional NFC, and IR blaster. The device is available in three color options: green, black, and white.

Pricing:

The international pricing isn’t known yet, but in China, the device is priced at 4,299 yuan for the base 12GB + 256GB storage variant. If you want that maxed-out 24GB + 1TB variant, the device will cost you 5,799 yuan.
