OnePlus Reportedly Working on an Affordable Tablet

Banking on the fair success of it’s initial Android tablet, OnePlus is reportedly working on a budget-friendly “Go” version of this tablet, according to a new leak.

While no specifications or pricing were leaked, the device’s existence was spotted on the Indian Standards Bureau site, mentioning it’s model number. Since it is touted as an affordable variant of the original OnePlus Pad, this device may equip low-end hardware to justify it’s price.

A Budget-Friendly OnePlus Pad

After shaking up the premium Android smartphone industry, OnePlus has set it’s eyes on the tablet business, debuting it’s first Android tablet earlier this year. As it catered to fair sales, OnePlus is now making a lite version – dubbed OnePlus Pad Go.

1NormalUsername initially spotted the purported device in OnePlus forums, where it’s name and model number, OPD2304, were mentioned in the device identifier fields. While OnePlus has yet to confirm it’s existence, speculations rose when the post was promptly removed after it was spotted and could not be found again.

Well, another leak notes the device is indeed actual and is aimed at the Indian market. The same user spotted the OPD2304 model number on the Bureau of Indian Standards website, alongside the OPD2305 and OPD2203 models, all categorized as tablets.

How OnePlus positions this device is unknown, but with the name G, it would mostly be affordable and smaller compared to it’s original counterparts. As we wait to see how this device turns out, we expect OnePlus to cook essential features missing from the original OnePlus Pad.

Though the device boasts a massive 11.6″ display and impressive battery life with 67W fast charging support, it’s infested with several software glitches. Though the company ironed them out with timely updates, the community is disappointed with the OnePlus Pad for having Wi-Fi-only connectivity.

Thus, the company should understand this and hopefully set cellular(LTE or 5G) connectivity support in it’s upcoming OnePlus Pad Go tab.
