Oppo Find X7 Ultra Debuts With Dual Periscope Lens, 100W Charging

Oppo has launched it’s latest premium handset – Find X7 Ultra at the CES 2024 event, which is all about the camera! In most cases, this high-end phone seems similar to the OnePlus 12.

It’s got a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, 100W SuperVOOC fast charging, 16 GB RAM and four main rear cameras! Oppo’s Find X7 Ultra is the first phone to offer two periscope lenses and can capture Portrait shots even if the object is at 30 feet distance. Here are more details;

Oppo Find X7 Ultra Specifications

The successor of Oppo’s Find X6 Ultra isn’t short of hype. The new handset – Find X7 Ultra, is mainly equipped with high-end specifications on both hardware and software front, as below;

Starting with the internals, Find X7 Ultra runs on Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and offers up to 16GB of RAM, up to 1TB of storage, and a dedicated security chip. The display features an OLED panel with 3,168 x 1,440 resolution and 4,500 nits of peak brightness, similar to the OnePlus 12. Furthermore, it’s certified with the OnePlus’s Rain Water Touch screen tech, and will get Ultra HDR support via an update.

Equipped with a 5,000mAh battery, Oppo says it can be juiced with 100W SuperVOOC wired or 50W wireless charging. There’s even an IR blaster and a VIP slider – which changes sound profiles and can turn off the camera, microphone, and location access.

Coming to cameras, the Find X7 Ultra has a quad-rear setup led by a 50MP LYT-900 one-inch primary camera, followed by a 50MP LYT-600 ultrawide shooter(1/1.95-inch), and two periscope cameras, both being a 50MP lens. Although, they vary at 3x periscope zoom (IMX890, OIS) and a 6x periscope zoom(IMX858, OIS).

This setup can capture a high-quality zoom at 270mm(~12x), alongside the ability to take portrait snaps of a subject as far as nine meters(29.5 feet) away. The company has also created a Hypertone Imaging Engine to address various camera pain points, like over-processed shots, unnatural HDR, and over-exposed images.

Pricing and Availability

Unfortunately, the phone isn’t coming out of China, at least yet, says the company’s head of product management, Arne Herkelmann. This is pitiful, considering what Oppo Find X7 Ultra offers in the premium segment. And for pricing, Oppo details as below;

  • 12GB/256GB: CNY 3,999 (~$563)
  • 16GB/256GB: CNY 4,299 (~$605)
  • 16GB/512GB: CNY 4,599 (~$647)
  • 16GB/1TB: CNY 4,999 (~$704)

The handset will arrive in Ocean Blue, Sepia Brown and Tailored Black colour options.
