Pixel 8 Leaked Teaser Video Exposes Main Camera Features

A leaked teaser video of The Google Pixel 8 revealed the handset’s camera features, including AI additions to offer the best-ever mobile photography.

The Leaks suggested a new Video Boost for smoother recording, an Audio Eraser for removing the surrounding noise, Pro Controls for DSLR-like camera tuning and the ability to change people’s faces in editing. Both Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are expected to have these.

Pixel 8 Series Leaked Camera Specs

One of the most anticipated products from Google this year, the Google Pixel 8 Series, is set to arrive sometime next month. As we wait for an exact launch date, a video leak of the upcoming Pixel 8’s teaser reveals it’s essential camera features.

Coming from 91Mobiles, the leaked video shows a new “Video Boost” feature, tuned with AI for recording a “smoother view”, alongside the Night Sight’s effects on video and then there’s an “Audio Eraser” for removing the surrounding noise from the video background.

The most interesting amongst all of them is a new Google Photos editing feature that will let users change people’s faces in a shot to create the shot they want! While there’s no explanation of how this works, it seems to use multiple similar images to make one final product.

Further, there’s a new Pro Controls option to let you customise your recording at the DSLR level. Though we can’t see all of them yet, we spotted shutter speed, ISO and manual focus options as of now and finally, there’s the Magic Editor that Google teased at this year’s I/O event to let you tune the image subjects or change the sky.

This aside, the Pixel 8 Pro added auto-focus to it’s 10.5MP selfie camera, which Google offered with it’s Pixel 3 earlier but removed in subsequent releases. Pixel 8, on the other hand, continues to have a fixed focus despite bearing the same sensor as it’s Pro counterpart.

Further, both the handsets will have a 50MP primary sensor with f/1.68 aperture on the 1/1.31-inch sensor with 1.2μm pixel width. All these imply that the handsets still use Samsung’s ISOCELL GN1 sensor. Other camera specs include the Pixel 8 Pro having a 48MP ultrawide and 48MP telephoto camera at 5x zoom, while the vanilla Pixel 8 gets a 12MP ultrawide camera with auto-focus.
