After launching the device in China last month, Nubia finally launched it’s Red Magic 9 Pro to the global market. The device is a gaming device and is targeted at power users and incredibly hardcore gamers. It has beast specifications and can handle all the heavy tasks users throw at it. Nubia Red Magic 9 Pro Specifications:

The device comes with a boxy design with flat edges on all corners. There is a triple rear camera system, and the rear camera module is flushed on the rear panel, due to which there is no camera bump. It is a gamer’s device, so some aesthetics are visible from the looks.

On the front there is a 6.8-inch flat BOE AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and an exceptional 960Hz touch response rate. There is no punch hole cutout on the display for the selfie camera as the device has an under-display selfie shooter. So, there is no distraction on the display, and users will get an immersive gaming experience with this device. This display has a peak brightness of up to 1600 nits under direct sunlight, and it supports 10-bit color depth, 2,160Hz PWM dimming, and a 100% DCI-P3 color gamut. The display also has an under-display fingerprint scanner, which works as a heart rate monitor.

Under the hood is the most powerful Android chipset – the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC manufactured on 4nm fabrication along with Adreno 740 GPU. Nubia claims a 32 percent increase in CPU performance and a 34 percent increase in GPU performance compared to it’s predecessor. The device also comes with a custom-made Red Core 2 chip, a dedicated gaming chip offering excellent gaming performance. Users can choose from 12GB + 256GB or 16GB + 512GB storage options. The global variants have an LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.0 internal storage. It runs Redmagic OS 9.0 on top of Android 14 out of the box.

For optics, a triple rear camera system is headlined by a 50MP primary lens with Samsung’s GN5 sensor, a 50MP ultrawide sensor, and a 2MP macro lens. For selfies, a 16MP under-display sensor is on top of the display.

Powering up the device is a massive 6500 mAh dual-cell battery that supports 80-watt fast wired charging. Other specifications include a 3.5mm audio jack, USB Type C, 5G, NFC, Wi-FI 6E, and Bluetooth 5.4.

Pricing:

The Red Magic Pro is available in three color options – Sleet, Snowfall, and Cyclone. The device with sleet color is available in 12GB + 256GB storage configuration, costing $649. The Snowfall and Cyclone colors are available in 16GB + 512GB storage configurations and are priced at $799.
