Apple’s announcement of the iPhone 15 Series said that replacing the rear glass of the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max cost less than their predecessors because of a new chassis architecture.

On it’s support website, the company noted the cost of replacing the rear glass of the iPhone 15 Pro as $169, the same for the iPhone 15 and iPhone 14. The same goes for the iPhone 15 Pro Max, costing $199, like iPhone 15 Plus and iPhone 14 Plus.

Replacement Cost of the iPhone 15 Series Rear Glass

As Apple continues to make it’s iPhones with removable rear glass panels, repairing or replacing them is now much easier and affordable. And with the latest iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max coming with a “new internal chassis architecture” that allows the back glass to be “easily replaced“, Apple has already reduced the cost of this replacement.

On it’s support website, the Cupertino-based company noted the prices as below;

  • iPhone 15 back glass: $169
  • iPhone 15 Plus back glass: $199
  • iPhone 15 Pro back glass: $169
  • iPhone 15 Pro Max back glass: $199

Compared to their predecessors, iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models had their rear glass replacement costs significantly reduced. For instance;

  • Phone 14 back glass: $169
  • iPhone 14 Plus back glass: $199
  • iPhone 14 Pro back glass: $499
  • iPhone 14 Pro Max back glass: $549.

Well, people who purchased an AppleCare+ plan will only pay $29 to replace the rear glass. While it’s good that Apple reduced the repair costs, it bumped the same for it’s latest smartwatches.

Battery replacement for Apple Watch Series 9 and Ultra 2 has increased by $20 to $99 now, whereas old models cost $79. Yet, it’s commendable that Apple is working to show care towards the community, although forced by Right to Repair acts from several states in the US.
