Samsung Could Launch a Budget Galaxy Z Fold 6 Soon

Considering how expensive their foldables are, Samsung may soon bring an entry-level foldable to the market, reports The Elec.

This may not be a standalone handset but a stripped-down variant of the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 6 and be priced at half of it’s actual counterpart. This could help Samsung gain more market share, especially in China, where the local OEMs are pushing it back.

A Budget Variant of Galaxy Z Fold 6

Samsung is reportedly working on a budget variant of it’s upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 6 that may help the South Korean giant to harden it’s mark in the foldable smartphone industry.

Though Samsung is the world’s biggest foldable maker, it lags in China, standing at No.3. And it’s because of local players like Xiaomi, Huawei and Honor, which are selling competitive foldables at a lower price than Samsung’s.

Thus, to gain the Chinese market share and penetrate deeply into this segment, Samsung may come with an entry-level foldable smartphone soon. This could probably be the mini variant of the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 6 flagship, reports The Elec.

This isn’t the first time we heard of Samsung developing an affordable foldable. But previous efforts stated a mid-range foldable was in the works, but Samsung shot down these rumours. Yet, bringing an affordable foldable is still desirable, considering the price tag of the current Samsung foldable, at $1500+, which is very expensive and unattractive.
