Samsung Galaxy S24 to Have a Faster GPU Than iPhone 15

A new report from Chinese social media states that the Samsung Galaxy S24 Series will come with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip – whose graphics will overshadow Apple’s next A17 Bionic GPU.

The current Galaxy S23 series is already a step above the iPhone 14 Series in terms of graphics, while it’s reversed in the CPU game. The same was expected to carry over for the next generation too, with the latest flagships from either side.

The GPU Game of Samsung and Apple

Up until last year, Apple has been a dominant player in terms of the best mobile graphics, finetuned by it’s chipmakers and native software. But this was changed this year, as Samsung equipped the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip in it’s Galaxy S23 series – which defeated the iPhone 14 series graphics with Adreno 740 GPU.

This is the first time an Android phone has been better than an iPhone in terms of mobile graphics and this stature will hopefully stay a little longer, as Qualcomm is coming with an even better mobile GPU soon.

Though unknown exactly what it is – but touted as Adreno 750 – this can be fitted in the upcoming Galaxy S24 Series next year. This chip comes along with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and is expected to beat A17 Bionic’s GPU.

Although, this in terms of mobile graphics, while the A17 Bionic chipset is expected to have a better CPU than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3! This comes from a post on Weibo, where the leaker stated that the Galaxy S24 Series has even more powerful graphics than it’s predecessor.

Qualcomm is expected to unveil this new chip later this year – and will be initially equipped by Xiaomi and Moto for their respective flagships. Samsung will get a slightly curated ‘For Galaxy’ version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which is faster than it’s regular counterpart.
