Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra

The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra has appeared on Geekbench 6, equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. Samsung’s forthcoming Galaxy S24 series is poised for release in the first quarter of the upcoming year. While we await it’s arrival, there have been whispers and speculations concerning it’s features.

Previously, speculations hinted that the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra would be the only device in the series to universally employ the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. Meanwhile, the standard Galaxy S24 and the Galaxy S24 Plus are expected to incorporate a blend of Snapdragon and Exynos chipsets. In most markets, these two devices will boast Samsung’s in-house Exynos 2400 chipset but in regions such as the United States, Australia, Japan and Korea, they will house a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.

In another development, the Geekbench 6 has recently listed the Samsung Galaxy S24 with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, revealing the chipset’s single-core and multi-core performance scores. This listing pertains to the U.S. variant of the device, bearing the model number SM-S928U and running on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. It achieved a single-core score of 2,234 and a multi-core score of 6,807, which, although respectable, does not exhibit a significant improvement over it’s predecessor. For reference, the Galaxy S23 Ultra managed 1,895 in single-core and 5,062 in multi-core performance with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip.

Nonetheless, it is essential to remember that the device’s official unveiling is still a few months away. It is anticipated that Samsung will introduce software optimizations and enhance the device’s performance under the hood. Furthermore, it is worth noting that the Samsung Galaxy S24 and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 are in the development phase and have not been officially announced by their respective companies. Consequently, these scores represent an unofficial version, leaving room for improvements upon the chipset and device’s official release.

Qualcomm is scheduled to release the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in either November or December of this year, while Samsung plans to launch it’s flagship device in the first quarter of 2024. Consequently, alterations and enhancements remain possible when the device is officially introduced to the market.
