Months after introducing it at CES 2023, Samsung started selling it’s second-generation Freestyle projector this week – for $800.
The unit is available for pre-orders until August 30th and offers a free case if brought in during this period. Samsung’s Freestyle projector can shoot videos up to 100″ in size, rotate 180° and blast volume from all sides. Running on batteries or an external power source, this projector has a SolarCell remote for easy control.

Besides excelling in smartphones and TVs, Samsung has a lot of consumer electronics in it’s portfolio. One among them is screen projectors, which the company runs under the Freestyle brand. Earlier this year, the South Korean giant unveiled the second-generation Freestyle projector, which equips many modern features.
Starting with it’s display capabilities, the Freestyle Gen 2 can throw 1080p images on any wall or ceiling of up to 100″ in size, with a minimum of 30″. It’s cradle-like stand can rotate up to 180°, letting you move the screen to the best possible position. Also, it’s 360° built-in sound system offers an immersive experience, irrespective of where you sit around it.
Well, regarding the power source, the Freestyle Gen 2 runs on portable batteries that can be charged with a USB system or be connected to a 60W/20V output if available. It also comes with Samsung’s SolarCell Remote, which hosts solar panels to charge itself when left in the light.
Internally, the projector comes with all the necessary streaming apps, including the Samsung TV Plus, that offers free streaming of supported channels. The projector also has Samsung Gaming Hub to stream cloud games from Xbox, NVIDIA, Amazon and Utomik, although you need the respective subscriptions to play.
And since it doesn’t come with a game controller, you must use your joystick via USB or Bluetooth. Costing $800, Samsung’s Freestyle Gen 2 is now available for pre-order until August 30th, in which you’ll can get a free case with purchase during this period. Shipping starts from August 31st.
