Telegram Stories is Now Available to Everyone

Telegram

A month after locking it to premium subscribers, Telegram rolls out the Stories feature to all it’s users.

Standing out of the crowd, Telegram will let users edit Stories after being published, unlike other social media platforms. This aside, users can post Stories to select contacts, choose when they expire and even post media from both cameras simultaneously.

Telegram Stories Feature

One of the essential features that every social media or instant messenger has these days is Stories – media that disappears after a day. And since it’s short-lived, users are more active on Stories than regular posting.

Though with all these reasons, Telegram didn’t cook a Stories feature in it’s platform – until last month! The instant messenger initially added Stories exclusively for it’s Premium users but now opens it for everyone.

Announcing this on it’s 10th anniversary, Telegram makes it’s Stories different from rivals to stand out. Unlike other platforms, Telegram will let users edit their Stories after publishing, including the visibility, caption, on-screen text, stickers and so forth.

Stories will be placed in an expandable section at the top of your chat list, where you can move Stories from certain contacts to a “Hidden” list that’ll be away from the main screen. Furthermore, unlike other social platforms, Telegram will let you choose when the story expires, between six, 12, 24 or 48 hours. Well, you can also allow it to display permanently in your profile section, similar to that of Instagram in your Story highlights.

Other features include adding links and people(tagging) to your Stories and the ability to upload media recorded from both rear and front cameras simultaneously, similar to BeReal.

While all these are enticing, Telegram keeps Stories unique for Premium users by adding a new Stealth Mode – that erases their views from any stories they opened in the past 5 minutes and hides what they view for the next 25 minutes.
