Tesla launched it’s revamped Model 3 in North America for the same price as it’s predecessor but the new variants don’t qualify for the federal tax credit.

The updated Model 3 has newly styled wheels, a rear display for backseat passengers and comes in two new colours. Tesla has also updated the range of it’s long-range Model 3 by 8 miles, alongside the rear-wheel drive variant.

An Updated Tesla Model 3

Per a post on X and its updated website, Tesla launched it’s revamped Model 3 in North America this week, after announcing it in China in September last year. While it’s being sold for a higher price in China and Europe, Tesla has kept the price unchanged for North American users.

The upgraded car has two variants, a rear-wheel drive and long-range, priced at $38,990 and $45,990, respectively. Both the vehicles come with a rear display for backseat passengers, newly styled wheels and two new colours – “Stealth Grey” and “Ultra Red“. Tesla has also updated the range of it’s long-range variant to 341 miles, up from 333 miles.

Well, both these variants don’t qualify for the $7,500 federal tax credit as per the updated U.S. Inflation Reduction Act. So interested buyers should pay the total price to book them. This aside, Tesla has removed it’s most expensive Model 3 car, the “performance” variant, from it’s North American websites.

Tesla was able to meet it’s targets and beat the estimates for Q4 2023, delivering a record number of vehicles, but lost it’s No.1 spot of EV maker by sales to China’s BYD. So, launching an updated Model 3 for the same price may attract new buyers and push sales.
