Pushing the regular users to buy their Blue subscription, Elon Musk says the “For You” tab on Twitter will soon show only the tweets from verified accounts!
This is aside from restricting the ability to vote on polls – to only verified users. Both these changes will come into effect from April 15th onwards, says Elon Musk.
Only Verified People in the “For You” Tab
Ever since Musk took over Twitter, he’s been making sweeping changes to the platform. From revamping the Blue subscription to changing UI and reinstating banned accounts – most of them were controversial. Well now, to push regular users to buy their Blue subscription; Elon Musk announced new changes.
Starting April 15, the “For You” tab will only feature tweets from verified people. Also, the ability to vote on polls of others will be available to verified users – says Elon Musk. These changes are already controversial, as many say the voices of people will be silenced just because they aren’t paying for Twitter.
Starting April 15th, only verified accounts will be eligible to be in For You recommendations.
The is the only realistic way to address advanced AI bot swarms taking over. It is otherwise a hopeless losing battle.

And this is true – as Musk gears up to prioritise only paying customers. Free users on Twitter should suffer restrictions on video upload quality and length, visibility in tweet replies, tweet character limit etc. And the new changes will further thump them down, where only the opinions of verified users are considered.
Well, Elon Musk has a long history of withdrawing any controversial features he made in the past – so we expect some tweaking or nullifying to this, in their introduction. But at the same time, Musk may be determined to put the company’s good over the community’s good – as Twitter is seriously scarce of funds and it’s debts are piling up significantly after Musk’s takeover.
