Vivo X100 and X100 Pro Debuts with MediaTek Dimensity 9300

Vivo X100

Vivo today announced it’s Vivo X100 series consisting of the X100 Pro and X100. These devices are true flagships from Vivo and surprisingly, both these devices have mainly few differences apart from pricing. The Pro model has a better camera system than the standard variant and both these devices come with a new MediaTek Dimensity SoC. Check out the detailed specifications of these devices below.

Vivo X100 and X100 Pro Specifications:

From the looks, these devices are similar and have a big circular camera island on the back for the rear camera system. Over the past few years, Vivo has brought some great flagship smartphones with top-of-the-line specifications and excellent camera systems. These devices also have a great camera system and can capture great pictures.

Both devices have the same 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED on the front with a 120Hz fast adaptive refresh rate. The refresh rate can switch from 1Hz to 120Hz depending on the screen’s content to preserve some battery life of the device. The display has a peak brightness of up to 3000 nits in broad daylight. The device has a surprising dual stereo speaker, an IR blaster and an official IP68 rating for protection against water and dust.

Under the hood is the latest MediaTek Dimensity 9300 Soc, built on TSMC’s 4nm fabrication. The Dimensity 9300 SoC is the latest flagship chipset from MediaTek and was announced just last week. It is an octa-core chipset that has four Cortex X4 cores and four Cortex A720 cores. MediaTek, at the launch of the chipset the previous week, announced that this chipset achieves 15% more performance at the same power level and delivers 40% better performance compared to it’s predecessor. The chipset is paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 internal storage. The Vivo X100 series runs on OriginOS 4 on top of Android 14 out of the box.

The main difference among these devices is the camera department, as the Pro model has a better rear camera system than the standard model. There is a triple rear camera system on both of the devices, but they differ in specifications. The Pro model has a 50MP SONY IMX 989 primary sensor – a 1-inch sensor with f/1.75 aperture and optical image stabilization. The primary sensor is paired with a 50MP ultra-wide sensor and a 50MP 100mm periscope sensor with 4.1x optical zoom. Vivo has added it’s custom v3 imaging chip in the Pro model to improve the photography. The Pro model has exclusive camera features, such as 4K portrait video with automatic focus switching.

On the other hand, the standard model has a 50MP primary sensor with f/1.6 aperture and optical image stabilization, a 50MP ultra-wide sensor and a 64MP periscope lens with visual image stabilization and 3x optical zoom. On the front, a 32MP selfie shooter is housed in a centred punch-hole cutout on both devices.

The Vivo X100 Pro has a 5,400 mAh battery with 100W wired, 50W wireless charging and reverse wireless charging. The company claims this device can charge from 1 to 50% in 12 minutes with the included charger in the box. The standard variant has a slightly smaller 5000 mAh battery with 120W wired charging and reversed wired charging but the classic variant has no wireless charging feature. The included charger can charge the standard variant from 1 to 50% in 11 minutes.

Pricing:

The Vivo X100 starts at 3,999 yuan for the base 12GB + 256GB variant and is available in Black, White, Blue and Orange. The Pro model starts at 4,999 yuan for the base 12GB + 256GB variant and is available in the same colours as it’s standard sibling. These devices are currently China-exclusive and international prices and availability aren’t yet confirmed.
