As promised, Samsung is finally rolling out the One UI 6.1 update with Galaxy AI to the Samsung Galaxy S22 series and other devices of the same era. The rollout has finally started for users in South Korea and should be available for users in other countries soon.

The news was shared by users on the Samsung forum indicating that Samsung is now bringing One UI 6.1 update with Galaxy AI to Samsung Galaxy S22 series and other devices. Interestingly, the update will also come out for devices such as Galaxy Z Fold 4 and the Flip 4. These two devices also launched in the same year that Samsung launched the Galaxy S22 series.

The One UI 6.1 update on top of Android 14 is available for the Galaxy S22, S22+, and the S22 Ultra along with the Z Fold 4 and the Flip 4 for users in South Korea. Along with the latest Android 14 OS, One UI 6.1 for these devices has some of the Galaxy AI features that debut with this year’s Galaxy S24 series.

The AI features included in the One UI 6.1 update for the Galaxy S22 series are circle to search, chat assist, Interpreter, live translate, note assist, transcript assist, browsing assist, generative edit, and AI-generated wallpapers. This means that almost all the AI features that are already present in the Galaxy S24 series are now available for the Galaxy S22 series.

One AI feature that is missing from this One UI 6.1 update is Instant Slow-Mo in the Gallery app. This is because that feature uses generative AI to create additional frames in a video to give it slow motion even if it wasn’t shot in a high frame rate mode.

Currently, the update is rolling out for users in South Korea. But it should not take much time for Samsung to bring this update to other markets as well. The Galaxy AI is currently available for the S24 series, S23 series, Z Fold 5, and Z Flip 5. However, the S21 series and the Z Flip 3 are on;y getting a circle-to-search feature from the above-mentioned Galaxy AI features due to lesser RAM.
